I have done a lot with hearts recently, including this one that I did for the String Thing #26, where I poured all my romantic soul out with immense pleasure. It was a heart-shaped string and I used many of my favourite tangles, old and new.
I was momentarily tempted to submit this one to the Diva Challenge this week until I realised that meant I was depriving myself of the challenge!
So - I did something I have wanted to do for a while and which pops up occasionally in some of the pieces I do...
A slightly steampunked heart...HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!
What do you think? Zentangle can be so adaptable, can't it?
I love them both!! I only learned about Steampunk a couple of months ago and am starting to really like it. Love your tiles. NancyD
ReplyDeleteThank you Nancy! I'm not overly 'Romantic' as a rule and am drawn to the more 'metallic' tangles so thought a steampunked heart would address all requirements - glad you like them. Axx
DeleteLove the subtleties of the first tile and the second is just so uniquely cool!
ReplyDeleteThanks Amy - they are quite different and I enjoyed them both - so pleased you like them. Axxx
DeleteI LOVE steampunk, great tiles Annie.
ReplyDeleteIt's not quite steampunk, Jenna, but it's a start and I shall keep working at it. Thanks. Axxx
DeleteI love the complexity of your first heart and your second one is so bold and fun! Both totally unique :) have a happy Valentine's week
ReplyDeleteThank you Kailey! I loved doing both of them. I shall be happy now as I've just got a new puppy!! SO cute. Axxx
DeleteOh, Annie, these are so wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThank you Penny! And thank you so much for dropping by - lovely to see your name here on my tangling blog too. Axxx
DeleteAnnie, these are really great. I think the first one is gorgeous with a great choise of tangles. The second one looks like a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you like them Annemarie. I enjoyed doing both in quite different ways. Axxx
DeleteI love, love love your "romantic soul" valentangle. Beautifully done!
ReplyDeleteDelighted to hear that, Susan - thank you so much for telling me. I can be a big soppy at heart too. Axxx
DeleteWhee! I love the steampunk one!! Your first is beautifully elegant!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Lady Kate! I keep saying it but I enjoyed doing both. Axxx
DeleteSuch fun, the contrasts between your 2 tiles are brilliant.
ReplyDeleteOh thank you, Shelly! So glad you stopped by and left me such positive feedback! Axxx
DeleteReally like the first one. The heart Aquafleur has a lot of dimension and just stands out so well.
ReplyDeleteThank you Donald, I think a lot of us have found Aquafleur works so well with hearts! I love doing it and have really enjoyed this challenge and all the contributions.
DeleteAxxx
Gorgeous work! I love the heart Aquafleur as well! I also love how you mixed the metallic look in the second version with the soft romantic looking lace. It's a very nice contrast.
ReplyDeleteHello Holly - thank you for popping by and leaving me such a lovely comment. Glad you like them. Axxx
DeleteBoth are beautiful. But the first - wow! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Lily - the first one is lovely because the string just lent itself to heart-tangles. It was a String Thing challenge but I thought it definitely qualified for a Valentangle! Axxx
DeleteI too, LOVE Steampunk. What fun! I also love the Aquafleur adapted to a heart shape!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jean. Aquafleur is so lovely to do and I think a lot of us saw its 'heart' potential! Axxx
DeleteI love both your hearts, and your steam punk heart is a delight! This would be the perfect heart for the Tin Man in the Wizard of Oz! Annie, thanks for your comments on my blog. I think you might be right. When I finished it, I looked at it and saw a heart that had been broken, mended and healed, so I guess that would take some Sass!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Kathy! And you're most welcome - I did see sassy - but the broken and mended and healed bit is also really important. Axxx
DeleteWow Annie the first one is really classy, the second one is just so completely different. I've seen cards made in the steam punk style but this is the first tangle I've seen done that way, it's great!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I did enjoy doing both of them and right since I started tangling, I have enjoyed doing the slightly more 'metallic' ones and couldn't resist giving the Valentangle a steampunk look! Axxx
