Oh what fun! I love globes and this week, the Diva asked us to draw a globular grid. I enjoyed this one so very much and am excited to see what everyone else has done with this one.
Thank you Laura. I have been sending happy thoughts all week and hope that Artoo is feeling somewhat better now. He's such a darling!

Quite a lot of tangles fitted into this one - I remember doing a Fife variation, Printemps, Wud, Sandswirl, Emingle and a mini-version of NZepple. Is it Barber Pole around the outside or does this have another name...I really thought I'd got all the names sorted now but I do often find myself stuck to recall certain ones.
Thanks for looking.

Love this! Especially the outside border - gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThank you Kiki! Axxx
DeleteThis is gorgeous! It looks so dimensional-like I want to reach out and touch it.
ReplyDeleteThanks Michele! Very kind words. Axxx
DeleteI think you're right, it IS Barberpole and I just love this. It's so 3D that I want to touch it. Oh, I just looked up and Michele said that first. Well, she's right isn't she, it just begs you to check that it really is flat. Great work, Annie.
ReplyDeleteThanks Maggie - I really wanted to make it look as 3D as possible so I'm glad it has had the desired effect. Axxx
DeleteReally like the touches of gold and shiny bright textures!
ReplyDeleteThank you Michelle, those two were a bit of an afterthought but they made a big difference.

Wow, this is such a beauty Annie!!!!
ReplyDeleteDelighted that you like it, Annemarie! Thank you, Axxx
DeleteThis is beautiful lovely colours purple and gold and it really does look round. I'm sure that is striping around the edges too.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks Joanne. I think the light might be a bit deceptive - there is gold in it but the rest is only pen and pencil. I agree, it looks a bit purple here - I have no idea how that happened! Axxx
Deletei love your rolled border especially
ReplyDeleteThank you Lorna - it has had a different effect to what I was expecting but I like it too. Axxx
DeleteGreat, lovely globe.love your choice of patterns.
ReplyDeleteThanks Carmela! Axxx
Deletewow, it looks so dimensional! the border is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThanks Simone! You have no idea how I love a 'wow'. Makes me feel so good. Axxx
DeleteWow... so dimensional!!! You feel like you can actually touch it!! So well done!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Marta! I love globes as they really work well with Zentangle and shading. Axxx
DeleteAnnie This is a wow! I love purple - my favorite colour.
ReplyDeleteThank you Val! I love a 'wow' - but the purple colour is some trick of the scanning process - I can see it looks purple here but it is just graphite. Axxx
DeleteSuper nice, Annie. I had to go back and look at the colors. I can see why people think there was purple. Great movement off the paper. There was a Spaniard from Madrid in my CZT class. We became friends because I translated for her. She had been very busy teaching workshops in Madrid and other cities in Spain. She has more than recouped the expenses of her yep to the US with her zentangle teaching earnings. I can't say the same, but that's possibly because there are only 3 CZT's in Spain and she has been a proactive marketer.
ReplyDeleteYes, Suzanne, I know of the three CZTs in Spain, though I haven't met them... yet! I'm quite tied with children and family commitments just now and I'm pretty sure that I couldn't charge the same prices for courses here as Maria is able to do in her art school in Madrid. I do hold on to the idea though... maybe one day! Nice to know you met on your course. Axxx
DeleteOh my goodness! Before I read any of the comments, my first thought was I want to run my fingers over those smooth raised little tiles! This is spectacular! The Barberpole around the edges is brilliant! I love how the gold adds a softness and warmth to the design. Wow! Wow! Can I say that again? :-D
ReplyDeleteOh you are so kind, Antonine! Thank you - and thanks for looking at my son's map too. Glad you like it - we are map lovers. Axxx
DeletePretty one! Love the patterns and colours.
ReplyDeleteThank you Ilse! Axxx
