Zendala Dare #83

I was delighted to see that Erin had been able to give us another Zendala Dare over on The Bright Owl despite having a really busy time - THANK YOU!! I did miss it last week but absolutely understand you have many more priorities than feeding addicts like me...but my little heart rose when I saw your latest post in my Blog Roll.

And I've had such fun that I've done all three blank templates again - each one very different from the last.

I am hopeless with colour but ran numbers one and three through BeFunky.com's photo editing site to add a cool blue colour, the theme being a chilly one this week. It was hard to think what cold felt like today, as we were bathed in glorious sunshine for yet another day. But you will see in my last Zendala that I've used a lot of 'Mist' which reminds me of Yorkshire!

It took me a while to get started as all I could see were Christmas Puds in the template....

I used the 'Cooler' effect on Be Funky for this one.

This one is in its original state - no colours and not too chilly.

My last attempt definitely feels chillier to me.

Hope you like them - I loved this challenge and really enjoyed completing it. It was well worth waiting for. I'm off now to see what others have done with this one.

  1. Yes, number 3 is definitely 'chillier'! Very pretty! I wonder how many others will end up having snowflakes in the middle...

  2. They are all very pretty, but, yes, the third certainly captured the chill! I like the little stars around the edges.

    1. Hello Jean, thank you so much. I launched into one and two without thinking about winter, so gave number three a bit more thought. And used all I could think of to conjure up the chilly weather. Axxx

  3. Annie, so glad you stuck with me, even through my absence. I love that you did all three templates! Your creations are exquisite but I think I like the second one the best. It looks like it's staring at you! Thanks again for taking the Dare! And just so you know, there will definately be a new exciting template Saturday morning!

    1. Erin - how lovely of you to pass by and comment - I do understand how busy you are!! But goodness, I was so excited to see a new post and a new Dare!
I worry a bit about the staring ones....I've done a few that are eerily starey...
I've had my fix this week and am incredibly busy myself but the Dares are just perfect wind-downs with a little 'me' time.
      Thanks again,
      Axxx

    1. How kind, Ronnie. I feel I'm on my own ground when I do the Zendalas. Sometimes the other challenges I do leave me feeling a bit unsure, but the Zendalas I really love.
      Thank you for commenting.

  5. All three are great. I especially like the second and third. They are excellent.

    1. Thank you Kim - my first is always a sort of 'warm-up' and never what I really want. The second is almost always the most 'instinctive' and the third usually has some planning involved...I think you can tell. Most importantly, it's just such fun!

  6. I agree. All 3 are great, but the second and third are special. And thanks for mentioning BeFunky. I never knew about it before; what fun!

    1. Thank you Audrie! I can't resist posting them all as they look more 'real' to me on the screen than on the paper next to me....I think that's why I like BeFunky too. I can change the appearance very easily without actually altering the drawing itself. It is great fun!

  7. Indeed, all three are beautiful, but like Erin the second one is my favorite because it keeps looking at me.

    1. Thank you Anne. At least this one has a benign look. I once did one that was truly scary and looked in a most unpleasant way..

  8. Beautiful! Love that snowflake one with Msst. Gorgeous, luscious shading in the original one.

    1. Thank you Zoe. Msst seems to simple somehow but I always like the effect. And I'm someone who really loves the shading part! The BeFunky programme picks this up - that's where the colour comes from in both the top and bottom tangles...the shading on the originals. It's very clever - doesn't work on wood though!! Axxx

  10. All three are truly beautiful - but I agree that #3 is chillier! It's also my favourite because it's so delicate and lacy!

    1. Thank you Sue - I have to work quite hard to get the more delicate, open feel to them. Fortunately, Msst really makes that possible and was very appropriate for this theme. Axxx

  11. They all have their unique characteristics. I like the array of tangles in the first, the perspective and 3-D effect you achieved in the second, and the use of color in the last one. Like your center snowflake in the last one.

    1. Thank you Myriam... blue usually, but not always, suggests chilliness, doesn't it? I think I like number 2 the best as well.
