Diva Challenge 189 -UMT Yuma.

I've had such fun with this week's challenge.  Thank you,  Laura and thank you Akua for a very lovely new tangle.

This post is from my tablet as I'm rather busy this week, so apologies for the slightly odd colour of my uploads. I will redo the post when I get chance. The rush to post is so I can allow myself to see what everyone else has done!

Shading is my 'thing' so you can imagine how much I enjoyed doing these two!

I may even do another one!

Thanks again - I did love this challenge! Axxx

  1. Good tiles, both of them. My preference is for the second one, where the white space is part of the deal. Really good work.

    1. Thank you Maggie. I like how different the tiles are, despite using a monotangle. It's very versatile, I think. Axxx

  2. I love the flowing lines of your first! The positive/negative space in the second is nice too, but I seem to gravitate to the curved lines more.

    1. Thanks Kate - and glad you noticed I deliberately tried one version with curved lines and one with straight...there's a lot of tangling in this tangle, isn't there? Axxx

  6. Oh my goodness, how exquisite your shading is on both of these! the first one has so much dimension, lifting the seed shapes right off the page, and the round solidity you achieved with the second one! so nice, both of them.

  8. The first tile is beautiful, and indeed "shading is your thing" - beautiful shading.
The second tile is also beautiful, and I love the open spaces you created which give YUMA a completely different feel.

  9. Wonderful, well drawn and creative, Tiles, Annie. Love the curvey vs straight line version designs. The fill in the lozenges of the second is very striking. You've created great dimension in both tiles with your wonderful shading.

  14. These are both very nice tiles. I especially like the second one. I like the way you made Yuma look like an aura of the rice shape on the first tile, it gives it added dimension.

    1. Thank you JL. The first one is my first attempt at Yuma, so if it looks clever, it's purely accidental! Ax
