Diva Challenge #155 - White space

I had a moment of panic when I saw the Diva's Challenge for this week - leave some white space! A real challenge for me. I'm happy to do it if I get to 'the end' and there's some space left...but my problem has been to intentionally leave the space.

I'm not overly happy with the result - it looks contrived whereas I know others make their white space incredibly 'artful' but it's been a 'good' challenge as I have an area I can really work on. And this morning, I received a package from my sister with 10 white gel pens, a pack of black cards and a pack of white cards. So I have plenty of motivation!

Pokeleaf, Flux, Myst, Cubine, Printemps. Nzeppel, a pretty rubbishy Sanibelle (which I should have done BEFORE the Nzeppel bit but didn't) and Lirik - my new find this week.



Ah well - we must live and learn....watch this (white) space!

    I like your tile, and yes Sunrise would be perfect title, and I love how artistic you shaded it to make it pop-up Great job.

    I guess that people see different things. I do not think it looks contrived, To me I thought of a moonlit garden. Looks great.

      Thank you Donald - perhaps I should have said it 'felt' contrived as I decided to leave a circle as a white space. It could be moon, it could be sun - I'm delighted that it suggests a moonlit garden to you. Axxx

    I think you did this challenge perfectly Annie as people are suggesting their own thoughts which means they were drawn to the white space. To me it makes a lovely moon shining on the garden. Love the tangles you used

      Thank you Jenna - I think it was difficult for me to have an idea in mind before I started but then felt I lacked a bit of the 'artist' view to make it how I really wanted it. I feel I've learned from it though and will work on the process. Glad to think you saw a moon on the garden - it's a nice image. Axxx

    My first thought was a sizzling hot sun, maybe that's because I'm dreaming of summer on another windy day! I've learned how you can shade an empty space too, thank you for that....x

      Lovely thought - a sizzling hot sun! Yes, dream on, summer will come eventually! I wanted to give the empty space substance and thought the shading would emphasise that - so glad you think it worked. Axxx

    I think this is an absolutely beautifully done tile. Your space just makes everything else flow. Your choice of tangles and placement is perfect.
