Ooh, a duotangle challenge this week from Laura - on I am the Diva - using the fantastic Diva Dance troupe and Crescent Moons.
I had two attempts - the first didn't quite hit the spot but here it is:
The second, I have fallen quite in love with - mainly because it doesn't look like anything I've ever done before (apart from the one above....!) Just a feeling!
Thank you so much, Laura - I not only enjoyed doing this challenge, but loved watching the video of you doing a tile that was posted with Challenge #100. It was wonderful!
Looking forward to seeing all the other entries!

They are both very good and on the second tile the diva dance is somehow skipping of joy. What a delight!
ReplyDeleteThank you Beewatch! I had finished the second one and knew there was something I could add, so I put the little 'movement' lines around the three centre tangles and they came to life. Axxx
DeleteThis first one is well done; however, I can see why you prefer the second. Those little lines do make it dance and look "happier."
ReplyDeleteThank you Jean. I think I like it because it is so different from other things I've done. I have never tried Diva Dance properly - and I really enjoyed it. Axxx
DeleteBoth are great. I like that you colored the spots of the diva dance red, makes it dancing indeed!
ReplyDeleteMany thanks Didisch! I really wanted to make it dance - glad you like it. Axxx
DeleteI was thinking the same thing as Didisch. The first one is beautiful, the second stunning. Great shading too.
ReplyDeleteSo kind, Annemarie - it was such a fun challenge. I really did enjoy it. Axxx
DeleteHappy tiles with vibes! Love your moves!
ReplyDeleteDelighted to have positive comments from you, Shelly. Thank you! Axxx
Deletelove both tiles!
ReplyDeleteThank you Catherine! I've been so busy over on your lovely blog and looking at all your amazing 'me made' clothes. Lovely to find you. Axxx
DeleteWow - these are great. I love the way changing the shapes of the darkened bits - from rounded to pointed - leads to a change in the whole look - I'll give you're way a try I think!
ReplyDeleteThank you RR - great to see you here! Glad you noticed the shape change - it makes a subtle but interesting difference. Axxx
DeleteBoth arre beautiful and I can´t decide for a favorite! The touch of the red colour is great!
ReplyDeleteThank you LonettA! I still prefer the second one and I was pleased I thought of adding a little splash of colour. Axxx
DeleteGorgeous, lovely work! Both tiles! & I love how your first tile is your jump off point for experimenting in the second tile. & I LOVE that second tile! Especially the way the border on the right side pinches in & twists around. Really pretty touch!
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely encouraging feedback Kathryn - thank you so much. Yes, the first tile was the experiment and I liked it but I felt it detracted from the Rock 'n Roll bits that I really liked. Hence the second which was much more what I wanted to portray.

These are awesome! Love the red and how it gives it just a burst of color.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Lara! I think the red makes all the difference. Axxx
DeleteNice job. These could be in sequence. The first has your Rock 'n Roll Diva Dance just emerging and breaking free. Your second has them letting loose and shakin it.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea, Donald - and actually, that is exactly what happened!! Thank you. Axxx
DeleteI like both tiles and can see how the second one looks like they're dancing, but I really like the first one where you've used little bits of Crescent Moon on each of the Diva dance posies, makes me think of limpits :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda! I loved your take on this challenge too. It was such a fun one! Axxx
DeleteBoth tiles are beautiful. If I hadn't seen the second, I would have thought the first one was great. And it is; but the second one is terrific. The additional little lines which create that extra bit of movement are genius.
ReplyDeleteFantastic feedback, Audrie - thank you so much!! I have to say - with NO false modesty - that it was a moment of inspiration, rather than genius, that made me put those little lines! But call it genius if you will...:-)

oh gorgeous, I am so amazed by the variations everyone has done, this is just awesome, I love the red, it's intense and it's bold. Great tile!
ReplyDeleteThank you ! They are all fantastic - I really enjoyed this one, Chrissie and agree that there have been some wonderful variations produced. Axxx
DeleteI love both tiles! And I know what you mean, the second one has that little extra oomph. Love the bit of red.
ReplyDeleteThanks Zoe - and I think you're right - the second one does have a bit of 'oomph'! Great word! Axxx
