Zendala Dare #87

I logged onto my blog yesterday morning and was within one minute of seeing the latest Zendala Dare from Erin at 'The Bright Owl'. I thought I'd get in quickly too and had a very pleasant Saturday afternoon of tangling. These are my two contributions - hope you like them as I enjoyed doing them both.

Smallest tile - just notice there's no shading!
I used Tipple, Boo*Kee, Beadlines and
I'm not sure if the pebble one has a name...any ideas?

For this, I moved out a segment each time I went round.
I used Barber pole and a variation on that, Crescent Moon, Eylet and Ribbon and the last one, which looks rather maggot-like - which was not quite what I intended. Is there a 'Maggot' tangle? I suspect not!

Don't forget to check out the other contributions to the dare on Erin's blog

    1. OK Cathy, I'll confess...it happened by accident as I didn't take enough care with the very first section! We all know there are no mistakes, only opportunities and I was pleased with how it turned out! Thank you! Axxx

  2. Both of your tangles are great! I agree with Cathy, the second one is done so uniquely because of the breakup in the pattern.

  3. I also like the second one. I like the tangles that you chose and like the variety of line work. I agree with Cathy that spiraling out was a creative way to use this template.

  6. That second one is just outstanding. I had to keep looking at it and marveling at how you constructed it.

    1. Oh gosh, you make me blush, Jean! I have to say again, that it really sort of happened by accident! Serendipity, let's call it. Axxx

  7. I love the "maggot" tangle - sort of reminds me of intestines. I guess that's the nurse's perspective! The laces are particularly cool.

    1. Lol! I guess it must be the nurse perspective; doesn't actually make the tangle any more pleasant to think about, although in its place, it looks OK! Axx

    2. And I tried, Terri, to leave a comment on your glorious and beautiful tangle on your blog, but it wouldn't let me. Stunning work! Axxx

  8. Both very nice pieces! I actually think the 'maggot' one looks like an earthworm. I also really like the way you used eyelet and ribbon. I don't think I have ever used that tangle, but am inspired now to give it a whirl. :)

    1. Thank you Alecia; yes, I agree, they do look a bit like earthworms as they get longer! I'm glad you like Eylet and Ribbon - it's such a fun one to do and I'm glad you feel inspired to try it! Axxx
