Erin gave us a slightly different template this week - it seemed open and quite challenging to me when I first saw it over on The Bright Owl.
I wasn't sure what to do, so literally just started tangling. This is my first attempt - and I've just noticed it's upside down, but it doesn't matter!
And then, I did another one adding the latest new tangle, Aquafleur, for a bit more practice! This one took a long time but I think wasn't quite worth all the effort....
Still - I wouldn't miss a Zendala Dare for all the tea in China! I do love it.
Do leave me a comment - click to follow too if you want. It is lovely to know that someone is looking and that I'm part of what's going on in the Zentangle world.
Off now to see what everyone else has done - Axxx
Annie, these are both just wonderful. I love the second one with the sunshines and the Aquafleur. Yes, it was worth it!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely thing to say - thank you so much, Jean. I should say that I enjoyed doing it - so of course it was worth it! Axxx
DeleteAnnie, these are both great. While I'm a big fan of Aquafleur (although I still haven't completely mastered it) there's something about the first one that really speaks to me. I love the center.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Audrie...I really thought I should practice Aquafleur, even though the rigid form it had to follow was a bit counter-intuitive for it...
ReplyDeleteThe centre of the first one is a form of Betweed I really love doing in a circle. It's so clever how it forms another pattern as you repeat to the end!
Axxx
I had a hard time with this one. You did a wonderful job on both of them! Love them both.
ReplyDeleteThank you Debra - I thought it was going to be difficult but I enjoyed doing both of the them. Axxx
DeletePS. I've seen yours and love the description you gave it!
Both look great. I am partial to the first one. I like the composition and the shading is great. Really brings out the patterns.
ReplyDeleteThank you Donald - I think I prefer the first one. I felt very brave leaving the circle without pattern!! Axxx
DeleteBoth are very beautiful, but in the first one is so much to see. I like espiacelly the center and the outher border. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you Carmela - the centre is one of my favourite ways of doing Betweed - I'm always pleased with the result. Thanks for your kind words.Axxx
DeleteI also like the first one best (however the second one is beautiful with the new Aquafleur), probably because of the gorgeous Betweed center.
ReplyDeleteThank you - I'm so glad you like them. I think the first one is my favourite too. Axxx
Deleteboth are wonderful! I see the sun peeking over the edge on the second one! this time of year with the frigid temperature I welcome ANY kind of sun! The first one almost has a stained glass window effect. very nice!
ReplyDeleteThank you Karen - these are lovely descriptions. We have just little sun today, which I'm grateful for...perhaps it was tempted out! Axxx
DeleteBoth wonderful, and I love your choice of complimentary tangles - especially the second one.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Sue. I always enjoy the Zendala Dares but this was a particularly enjoyable one! Axxx
